These Terms & Conditions govern your use of the Hearth Yarns mobile application, published by bazzaztech (ABN 16 831 278 845), Australia ("we", "us", "our"). By downloading or using the app you agree to these terms.
The service
Hearth Yarns lets parents and caregivers generate personalised bedtime stories, optionally narrated using a voice clone of their own voice, and purchase pre-made library stories.
Purchases and payments
- All purchases are processed through Google Play (Android) or the Apple App Store (iOS) and are subject to their respective terms.
- Prices are displayed in your local currency as determined by your app store.
- Purchases are non-refundable once a story has been successfully generated and delivered to your device, except as required by applicable law.
- If story generation fails due to a technical error on our end, we will not charge you. If a charge occurs and delivery fails, contact us at [email protected].
- Some stories are available free of charge at launch. We reserve the right to change pricing at any time; changes do not affect stories already purchased.
Generated content
- Stories are generated using AI and are provided for personal, non-commercial use.
- You own the stories generated using your account and voice, subject to these terms.
- We do not guarantee any particular story outcome, style, or quality.
- Once generated, stories are stored on your device. We are not responsible for loss of stories due to device loss, damage, or app uninstallation.
- Generated audio and artwork are stored in our private cloud storage only for the purpose of delivery to your device. They are permanently deleted within 24 hours of creation regardless of whether delivery succeeded.
- You must not use the app to generate content that is harmful, offensive, or illegal.
Voice recordings
- By submitting a voice recording you grant us a temporary, limited licence to process it solely to generate your story narration.
- Your voice recording is held temporarily in our private cloud storage (typically under 3 minutes) while your narration is being synthesised, then permanently deleted. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
- The voice clone feature is intended for use by adults (parents and caregivers). Do not record a child's voice using this feature.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the app for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any regulations.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the app.
- Use automated tools to abuse the story generation service.
- Resell or redistribute generated content commercially without our written consent.
Intellectual property
The Hearth Yarns app, its design, branding, and original content are owned by bazzaztech. AI-generated story text and artwork are delivered to you for personal use. We do not claim ownership of your voice or your story prompts.
Disclaimer of warranties
The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Story generation depends on third-party AI services which may be unavailable from time to time.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, bazzaztech's liability is limited to the amount you paid for the specific purchase that gave rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of New South Wales.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance. The current version is always at hearthyarns.com/terms.
